1.This is an academic journal published by the Department of Political Science at National Taiwan University. It was founded in March 1990 as a biannual publication. From June 2004, it switched to a quarterly publication scheduled for March, June, September and December of each year.

2.This journal focuses on publishing articles in both Chinese and English related to topics of political science. Chinese articles should not exceed 20,000 characters; English articles should not exceed 10,000 words. Complimentary book reviews or research notes should also not exceed more than 10,000 words. All works related to political science are welcome to be submitted at any time for consideration.

3.A submission will only be published after being subjected to an anonymous review.

4.Except under very special circumstances, this journal does not accept translated articles.

5.This journal does not accept articles that are under consideration for publication elsewhere. If you wish to submit your article to another publisher, then please withdraw it before doing so.

6.This journal reserves the right to alter the format and wording of any submissions.

7.If an article is accepted for publication, the author will be presented with one copy of the journal and twenty printed copies of the article.

8.Any copies of the article submitted to the journal for consideration will not be returned.

9.The author will retain copyright of the published article; however, the article must be provided to this journal at no charge with non-exclusive authorization, and the paper will be reproduced and uploaded to the internet for readers to search for, read, download, and print for non-profit purposes.

10.The copy of the article that is submitted should be formatted using Microsoft Word 7.0 or above. A digital copy of the article should be sent to: politics@ntu.edu.tw; along with a signed copy of the “Author Declaration of Original Submission” & Instructions on Submitting a Paper to the “Political Science Essay Series” (Please download this form at the website).

11.The submitted article should include an information page about the author which lists the title of the article, the name of the author, the affiliated organization and professional title of the author upon submission of the article, and the author’s contact information (telephone number, mailing address, and a working email address). The title of the article should be in both Chinese and English, and there should be an abstract of around 300 words with 3 to 5 keywords. In the main text of the article, refrain from including any information that can be used to identify the author. It is necessary to make a reference list of all the sources cited in the text. They should be arranged in order of Chinese sources first, then Japanese sources, and English or other Western sources afterwards. Chinese sources should be arranged by number of strokes in the author’s/editor’s name (fewest strokes to most strokes); Western sources should be arranged in alphabetical order. Do not include any sources that were not referenced in the text.
