Call for a Research Assistant

Dr. Don S. Lee, Assistant Professor at University of Nottingham in UK, is looking for a research assistant who can help his field research in Taipei during his visit from June 13 for a month.

During his field work, Dr. Lee will collect data and interview ministers and party officials to complete his book manuscript, which compares Taiwan with other presidential democracies in Asia.

The main tasks of a research assistant are contacting politicians and party officials to schedule interviews, translating Chinese into English during the interviews (if necessary), and attending interviews with Dr. Lee (if possible).

Proficiency in Chinese and English is required, and research assistants will be paid in hourly or daily rates (negotiable). Dr. Lee can also provide a recommendation letter after his field work.

Dr. Lee will be affiliated with the Hu Fu Center for East Asia Democratic Studies, Department of Political Science at National Taiwan University.

*Short Bio of Dr. Lee: He received a Ph.D. in political science at University of California, San Diego (US) in 2015. His research has been supported by the Leverhulme Trust and published in journals and books, including Comparative Political Studies, Governance, Oxford Handbook, and others.
