[代公告]Seminar on Transdisciplinary Education and Soft Power for Taiwan
We would like to invite you to our seminar, which will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, in Room 281, Chemistry Building, National Taiwan University.
This Seminar is the brainchild of the British and Taiwanese faculty members in the field who are committed to Transdisciplinary Education.
We are honored to have Dr. Gary Rawnsley and Dr. Ming-Yeh Rawnsley as panelists at the seminar. Dr. Gary Rawnsley is a professor of Public Diplomacy in the Department of International Politics and the Director of International Academic Strategy at Aberystwyth University in United Kingdom. Prof. Rawnsely values the theory of trandisciplinary in developing the curriculum for International Academic Strategy. For instance, the Master’s Program “Food and Water Security: Global Perspectives” has the principles of transiciplinary deeply embedded in its curricululm. His new book, “Selling China, Selling Taiwan: Soft Power and Public Diplomacy”, will be released soon.
Dr. Ming-Yeh Rawnsley is in this year elected Secretary-General of the EU Association of Taiwan Studies and since 2011 the columnist of our SHS-Blog. Her Articles help audience to have an understanding why transdisciplinary education is so important for modern society.
At the seminar, our panelists will hold lectures to explain how to use transdisciplinarity as an approach to enhance the soft power for Taiwan. For more information about the seminar, please fetch the attached poster in this email.
